Positive Wealth Management :: Henderson Matusch

Our initial workshop, from which the following workshops and seminars then complement in continuing the education process is designed to provide an understanding of financial household basics by having participants identify and understand where they are at today, then to work through where they want to be by completing a gap analysis then providing an understanding as to what actions they must take to achieve desired outcomes.

The most important decision any individual or household can take is to plan their spending by understanding the need for and then developing a spending plan. Some people call this budgeting, but that is often associated with limiting beliefs. Planning what you spend is about understanding where your money goes, which allows you to prioritise expenditure. By understanding this process, individuals and households take greater control of their household profit (savings). It allows them to see any over expenditure issues before they start accumulating out of control credit card debt.

Research shows us that people are far more likely to achieve greatness if they have set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) goals for themselves. This workshop is about turning your employees' dreams into achievable goals; it is delivered by way of an interactive workshop so that your employees have the opportunity to turn theory into practice during the workshop.

With understanding comes knowledge and with knowledge comes the power and motivation to make positive change. Few people understand that only 8.1% of Australians retire on over $31,148 a year (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2007). Participants work on their own situation and complete forward projections to understand the challenges they face in accumulating the necessary wealth to retire comfortably on their terms.

This workshop is designed to look at some unhealthy paradigms that many Australians have and to then consider ways they may be able to improve their financial situation and thus become "financially fit". The workshop specifically focuses on debt reduction and tax minimisation strategies that can be (and are being) employed by a number of savvy Australian householders.

This workshop takes attendees through the benefits and risks of purchasing a motor vehicle under this type of finance arrangement. By the end of the session attendees will know if a Novated Lease is an option to consider when looking to next purchase a motor vehicle (obviously this needs to meet with employer approval).

Superannuation is the foundation for most Australian retirement plans, yet, for many, understanding superannuation and how it works remains a mystery. This presentation educates attendees in regards to everything "super", from mechanics and investment options, to how insurance works within the superannuation environment.

This can be conducted after the announcement of the annual Federal Budget in May each year. This session seeks to explain any changes to laws and regulations in an easy to understand information session.

This is an extremely important subject that many Australians unfortunately ignore. This workshop will take attendees through what personal insurance is and under what circumstances they should consider it and why. It does not cover off on specific insurance policies or companies but rather insurance in a general sense. It will also consider how attendees should take out insurance and if getting cover under their superannuation is beneficial. We emphasise that insurance is simply another household cost and therefore needs to be considered when weighing up all household expenses, whilst still keeping in mind their financial goals and objectives. Additionally we will educate on and discuss the importance of estate planning and asset protection issues like wills and powers of attorney.

Here we educate attendees on a specific strategy, Transition to Retirement (TTR). We outline the potential benefits and the laws under which it operates, as TTR is a much utilised strategy and can work well for some people. In addition, we will examine issues facing retirees and include a number of case studies.

This is our "teach the teachers" program; the Australian school system teaches our children how to earn money but nothing about what to do when they get it. It is therefore left predominantly up to parents to provide this education. The workshop is designed to educate parents on what information they should be relaying to their children and how to get them having the right disciplines early.

Australian homeowners are constantly swamped with information about funding options for the most expensive purchase of their lives, their own home. Much of this advice can be well meaning but poorly focused, as it tends to be product specific and not strategy based. Many people persist with outdated ideas and thinking aimed at benefiting the banks and not themselves as the homeowner. This workshop will demystify the world of home mortgages and educate homeowners, be they first time buyers or otherwise, with what they should focus on to ensure they can afford to live once they move into their new home. This includes strategies on eradicating the mortgage as quickly as possible, to "beat the banks" and save thousands of dollars in interest.
